Update to the Township of Gore's Family and Seniors Policy
Township of Gore, February 10, 2026 – The Municipality of the Township of Gore has begun updating its Family and Seniors Policy.
“This update to the Municipality’s Family and Seniors Policy reflects its commitment to continuing its efforts to improve the quality of life for all its citizens, particularly through initiatives that allow them to enjoy the benefits of the surrounding nature,” stated Alain Giroux, Mayor of the Township of Gore.
“The committee has already held several meetings and has begun consultations with the residents of the Municipality to gather their comments and suggestions.” “Organizations serving families and seniors in the municipality will also be consulted,” stated Shirley Roy, councillor responsible for Seniors’ Issues and co-chair of the committee, and Sakina Khan, councillor responsible for Families’ Issues and co-chair of the committee.

- Marie-Catherine Laduré, Citizen, Seniors Representative
- Louis-Guy Reid, Citizen, Seniors Representative
- Janick Roy, Citizen, Families Representative
- Steve Vachon, Citizen, Families Representative
- Pascale Bellemare, Planning, Programming and Research Officer, Regional Physical Activity Coordinator, Laurentians Integrated Health and Social Services Centre (CISSSLAU)
- Sandra Lévesque, Community Organizer at CISSSLAU,
- Christine Trépanier, Support Worker at Espace MUNI,
- and Marie-Josée Dubé, Project Manager (Dubé Barsalou Communications) support the committee in its work.

The Municipality of the Township of Gore thanks the Government of Quebec for the financial assistance it received through the Age-Friendly Municipality (MADA) Initiative Support Program, which relates to the "seniors" component of its updated Family and Seniors Policy.
