Public works
These employees have the following responsibilities
. Maintenance of approximately 75 km of roads including the ditches and shoulders
. Replacing and maintaining culverts
. Installing new culverts on public roads for new constructionn
- Dynamiting to widen roads when required
. Removing fallen trees and other debris from roads during storms
. Minor repairs to asphalt roads
. Cleaning and sweeping asphalt roads
. Maintaining road signs and street lamps
. Maintaining parks and green spaces, the chalet, skating rink, children’s play equipment
. Some of the maintenance of municipal buildings and infrastructures.
The department has a garage to store and maintain the following equipment: a tractor, a 10 wheel truck, a backhoe, and a grader.
