Garbage collection / Recycling program
Garbage
Household garbage, household appliances and furniture are collected every Monday.
If this day falls on a holiday, the regular garbage collection will take place, unless the holiday is Christmas or New Year’s Day. In these cases the garbage will be collected on Tuesday.
Municipal dump
The items listed below may be brought to the municipal dump on chemin Sideline on the following days:
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, 9 am to 5 pm, and on Wednesday as of the Journée nationale des Patriotes (Victoria day in May) to the Wednesday after the Thanksgiving holiday (in October).
Items that are accepted: (this service is provided for the citizens of Gore only, proof of residency required):
- Waste materials from construction and renovation
- Railroad ties
- Asphalt, concrete, wood, brick, gyproc
- Aluminum, copper, iron, metal
- Tires
- Leftover paint is accepted at Rona stores
- Used oils at Canadian Tire
Recycling
Collection of recyclable items is available every second Thursday. Here is a list of items that can be recycled and those that are excluded:
